Minneapolis is home to over 429,000 people whose cultures, values, and diversity make our communities strong and empowered. In the state of Minnesota, there are:
- 659,000 people living with a disability
- 460,000 LGBT+ adults across the state,
- 1 in 5 Minnesota children being the child of an immigrant, and
- 9,996 people living with HIV
Given this diverse population’s varied needs, a coalition of grassroots community organizations are inviting Minneapolis voters to hear directly from mayoral candidates. Phoebe Trepp, Executive Director of Clare Housing, emphasizes the importance of voter participation saying, “We know that our futures are brighter and our communities thrive when we create a city and systems that work for all of us.”
