Director of Human Resources
The Director of Human Resources contributes to the mission of Open Arms by overseeing the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources Department and supervising the HR Team: HR Manager, HR Coordinator and Recruiter & Onboarding Specialist. The Director of Human Resources will ensure HR compliance when implementing HR policies and procedures. The person in this role will build trust and effective relationships with all leaders and staff members, demonstrating a proactive and accountable team-oriented approach to addressing the opportunities and challenges when addressing employee-relations and performance related issues.
Registered Dietitian – Menu Specialist
This 40-hour-per-week, benefits-eligible position contributes to the fulfillment of Open Arms’ mission by providing accurate and useful nutrition information to support the programs of OAM. The Menu Specialist is a Registered Dietitian who works alongside the Quality Assurance Manager, Client and Nutrition Services, Logistics Department, and Kitchen Operations Department to ensure a high-quality product that meets the needs of our clients and complies with FIMC standards and other national guidelines. The Menu Specialist will help to lead day-to-day operations of the OAM menu program by performing nutrient analysis of meals for all OAM meal programs, providing accurate and clear information to staff and clients, helping to ensure food safety, and supporting continuous quality improvement from recipe development to meal delivery.
Packaging Associate – MPLS & St. Paul Kitchen
This is an hourly full-time and benefits-eligible position in a high-volume production kitchen. Under the direction of the Food Services Manager, the Packaging Associate will set up the packing line and gather all components necessary to complete the packaging of meals, while ensuring the quality and consistency of our meals as they move through the packaging process, and engages with and helps direct our volunteers, who complete most of the packaging of meals. This role is perfect for an individual who has experience in a high-volume commercial kitchen environment and loves people! The Packaging Associate must maintain a clean and sanitary work environment and ensure that volunteers are doing the same. As with all OAM staff positions, this position is responsible for helping ensure volunteers and interns have an exemplary experience during all interactions with Open Arms and is expected to consistently maintain a high level of customer service to all guests, clients, and fellow team members.
Client Services Associate
This full-time and non-exempt position contributes to the fulfillment of Open Arms’ mission by providing the highest level of customer service to Open Arms clients. This position is primarily responsible for daily communication with clients, including intake, onboarding, and re-certification of clients, as well as facilitating ongoing scheduling and delivery changes, and helping to ensure deliveries to clients are accurate and timely. The Client Services Associate will maintain communication with referral sources, collect and maintain information for client records, and document the services provided by the organization. As with all OAM staff positions, this position is responsible for helping ensure volunteers and interns have an exemplary experience during all interactions with Open Arms and is expected to consistently maintain a high level of customer service to all guests, clients, and fellow team members.
Internship Opportunities
Special Events & Development Nonprofit Internship
The Special Events & Development nonprofit intern will participate in nearly every aspect of the Organization. This internship will play an integral role in the daily activities of the Organization, as well as explore the inner workings of running a nonprofit.
Open Farms Internship
The Open Farms Intern will work side by side with the Farm Program Coordinator and the farm team to complete many tasks over the course of the growing season.
Nonprofit Internship
The nonprofit intern will participate in nearly every aspect of the organization. This internship will play an integral role in the daily activities of the organization, as well as explore the inner workings of running a nonprofit.
