Leadership Gifts Officer
This full-time salaried position contributes to the fulfillment of Open Arms’ mission by designing, developing and implementing our Leadership Gift Program, in a unique, highly relational culture. The Leadership Gifts Officer will work closely with the Director of Individual Giving and will have key areas of responsibility as a valued member of the External Affairs (EA) Team. This role will develop major gifts strategies, create, manage and cultivate relationships with existing and new high-level donors while also developing and executing plans for mid-level donors and new prospects. It will be key for the Leadership Gifts Officer to share the critical mission of Open Arms, make meaningful connections with donors and clearly communicate client stories and organizational needs. The person in this role is expected to energize team members and volunteers and successfully persuade prospects to take advantage of the opportunity to participate in the Open Arms mission. This is a very hands-on position as Open Arms’ work with donors often happens during volunteer shifts, and this position may work side by side with volunteers/donors in the kitchen, on delivery or at one of our farms.

Dishwasher (St. Paul Kitchen and Campus)
This hourly position contributes to the fulfillment of Open Arms’ mission by providing ongoing janitorial, organization and kitchen prep tasks on a regular basis. This position will be responsible for janitorial, organization and kitchen prep tasks on a regular basis and as needed. These tasks include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing kitchen supplies and utensils. In addition, support the kitchen team by providing kitchen preparation including inventory control, receiving orders, and cooler, freezer and dry storage organization; and other duties as assigned.

Meal Expediter & Packager (St Paul)
This is an hourly full-time and benefits-eligible position in a high-volume production kitchen. Under the direction of the Food Services Manager, the Meal Expediter & Packager will set up the meal packing line for volunteers and gather all components necessary to complete packaging of meals for clients, while ensuring quality and consistency of our meals as they move through the packaging process. The packaging of meals is mainly completed by volunteers. The Meal Expediter & Packager must maintain a clean and sanitary work environment and ensure that volunteers are doing the same. 

Fulfillment & Shipping Associate
This is a full-time non-exempt and benefits-eligible position that works primarily Tuesday through Saturday each week in the Logistics Department. The Fulfillment & Shipping Associate is responsible for the execution of the Open Arms specialty fulfillment programs which includes bagging of prepared meals and other items as assigned, as well as our shipping program. The shipping program is rapidly expanding and will likely service hundreds of clients in greater Minnesota. This position will be expected to coordinate the weekly OAM menu fulfillment and shipping logistics and champion Open Arms’ use of efficient and innovative delivery methods.

Facilities Support Associate
This hourly position contributes to the fulfillment of the Open Arms’ mission by primarily cleaning and doing basic maintenance at Open Arms’ facilities and supporting work when needed at events. The Facilities Support Associates ensure the grounds and building are consistently well-maintained, welcoming, and clean, and that the kitchen and other critical areas are functioning as needed.

Baker & Volunteer Ambassador
The Bakery is responsible for producing around 12,000 – 15,000 items per week. This is a full-time and hourly position that contributes to the fulfillment of Open Arms’ mission by providing assistance with food production tasks on a regular basis and occasional catering or special events. Unlike many baker’s positions, this position extensively interacts with the general public and much of the job is greeting, checking in with, and thanking volunteers in the OAM kitchen.
This position is a part of a team that is responsible for recipe research and development, food safety and sanitization, overall Bakery cleanliness and organization, and management of volunteers in the Bakery.

Internship Opportunities

Special Events & Development Nonprofit Internship
The Special Events & Development nonprofit intern will participate in nearly every aspect of the Organization. This internship will play an integral role in the daily activities of the Organization, as well as explore the inner workings of running a nonprofit.

Open Farms Internship
The Open Farms Intern will work side by side with the Farm Program Coordinator and the farm team to complete many tasks over the course of the growing season.

Nonprofit Internship
The nonprofit intern will participate in nearly every aspect of the organization. This internship will play an integral role in the daily activities of the organization, as well as explore the inner workings of running a nonprofit.

Open Arms of Minnesota, the Twin Cities-based non-profit dedicated to providing nourishing, medically tailored meals to individuals with critical illnesses, has earned accreditation from the Food Is Medicine Coalition (FIMC). This recognition places Open Arms among an elite group of organizations nationwide that have demonstrated a high standard of care in delivering medically tailored meals (MTM).
