A hunger-free summer for neighborhood children

Last week we wrapped up the Summer Meals program, a partnership with the East Phillips Park Cultural and Community Center, Waite House Neighborhood Center and the Minnesota Department of Education.

In total, we served 6,832 free meals to about 300 children this summer, more than three times as many meals as we served in the summer of 2011.

We’re pleased as punch to that kids in our neighborhood who rely on school lunches during the school year stayed well-nourished this summer. We can’t believe it’s already back to school time!
