OPEN ARMS OF MINNESOTA HIRES REBECCA TOFTE AS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Posted 5.29.2012
MINNEAPOLIS (MAY 29, 2012) – Open Arms of Minnesota is delighted to announce that it has hired Rebecca Tofte as its new development director. She joins us today.
Tofte comes to Open Arms with ten years of leadership experience building development programs and fostering strong donor relationships at Minnesota nonprofits. Most recently, she established the development program for the Cowles Center for Dance and the Performing Arts, engaging 500 individual donors in the annual fund in its inaugural year. Prior to that, she served as the director of leadership gifts at the Minnesota Zoo Foundation, where she was responsible for the annual fund and major individual gifts, as well as for successfully establishing a planned giving program. At the Zoo Foundation, Tofte distinguished herself by consistently exceeding funding goals.
“I’m excited to help tell the story of the wonderful work being done by Open Arms in our community,” says Tofte. “I will dedicate myself to bringing resources to the organization, so it may grow and thrive.”
“Rebecca brings strong leadership skills and a rich portfolio of development expertise,” said Tim Reardon, Open Arms executive director. “We were also struck by her creativity in building programs and fostering her donors’ personal connection with the mission of an organization. As we continue to cook and deliver more meals each year, Rebecca will be critical in getting us to the next level and meeting that growth responsibly.”
Tofte will report to Tim Reardon and will be responsible for all fundraising efforts in conjunction with the executive director and leadership team.
