DOWN ON THE FARM

The growing season at our five Open Farms locations is well underway! We’ve harvested some beautiful, organic veggies and herbs this summer that have already been incorporated into our client meals, added to our community supported agriculture (CSA) boxes, and sold at the weekly Regions Hospital Farmers Market. While the intense heat has created some challenges, our crops are now thriving due to some much-needed rain and the tender, loving care of our Open Farms team. Our current harvest includes lots of leafy greens, radishes, peas, chard, and beets.  Delicious!

Open Farms was featured in a piece by Twin Cities Live reporter, Kelli Hanson, HERE. Our team was also able to catch up with Open Farms Manager, Kelly Wilson, in a video you can find HERE.

For more information about our Open Farms, including its history, farm locations, and ways to volunteer, please go HERE or contact Open Farms Manager, Kelly Wilson.

More about our CSA program: Open Arms of Minnesota grows vegetables and herbs for our kitchen and Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program at multiple urban farm sites in the Twin Cities. The program allows participants to enjoy farm-to-table veggies grown with love at Open Farms through the purchase of a CSA share! Each week from mid-June to mid-October, participants receive amazing seasonal produce and a selection of fresh herbs from our urban farms to enjoy in your own kitchen. All proceeds from your purchase directly support fresh, healthy meals to nourish critically ill Minnesotans and their loved ones!
