Communications & Community Relations Coordinator
This full-time, salaried position contributes to the fulfillment of Open Arms’ mission by helping create and nourish authentic and transformational relationships with internal and external stakeholders and the public through compelling storytelling, cohesive branding, and mission-aligned experiences and events. In coordination with the Director of Communications and other department leads, this position will increase engagement with audiences and build awareness of the organization’s mission as well as support events and community outreach. The percentage of time spent in each area is approximate, and expected to vary, depending on the time of year.

Public Policy Officer
The Public Policy Officer is a part-time and temporary position responsible for advancing Open Arms of Minnesota’s public policy and government relations priorities. Reporting to the CEO, this role works closely with senior leadership and contracted lobbyists to support advocacy strategy, legislative monitoring, and stakeholder engagement at the local, state, and federal levels. The Public Policy Officer leads coordination of legislative tracking and policy analysis, assesses the potential impact of proposed legislation on OAM and the communities we serve, and supports the development of organizational responses and advocacy strategies. The role also helps build staff and volunteer advocacy capacity and ensures alignment between policy efforts and organizational priorities

Kitchen Floor Manager
This is a full-time, salaried, benefits-eligible position in a high-volume production kitchen preparing and packaging ready-to-eat meals. Working as part of a team at Open Arms of Minnesota – St. Paul campus, the Kitchen Floor Manager is responsible for working with staff and volunteers to ensure the accurate packaging of our made-from-scratch meals. The Kitchen Floor Manager will oversee the daily meal packaging, ensuring efficiency and volunteer engagement through proper distribution of tasks. The Kitchen Floor Manager is responsible for managing a team of packaging associates, overseeing the volunteer meal packaging shifts, kitchen safety, sanitization, and organization. The Floor Manager oversees the daily operational flow of food production, packaging, and storage. This position ensures efficient coordination between kitchen, packing, and freezer operations while maintaining organization, food safety, and accurate inventory management in collaboration with all OAM staff positions, this position is responsible for helping ensure volunteers and interns have an exemplary experience during all interactions with Open Arms and is expected to consistently maintain a high level of customer service to all guests, clients and fellow team members.

Internship Opportunities

Open Farms Internship
The Open Farms Intern will work side by side with the Farm Program Coordinator and the farm team to complete many tasks over the course of the growing season.

Nonprofit Internship
The nonprofit intern will participate in nearly every aspect of the organization. This internship will play an integral role in the daily activities of the organization, as well as explore the inner workings of running a nonprofit.

Open Arms of Minnesota Earns Accreditation from Food Is Medicine Coalition

Open Arms of Minnesota, the Twin Cities-based non-profit dedicated to providing nourishing, medically tailored meals to individuals with critical illnesses, has earned accreditation from the Food Is Medicine Coalition (FIMC). This recognition places Open Arms among an elite group of organizations nationwide that have demonstrated a high standard of care in delivering medically tailored meals (MTM).
