We have volunteer opportunities for both individuals and groups, including cooking in the kitchen, delivering to clients, and harvesting veggies on the farm. Find out how to get started:
If you’re interested in volunteering at Open Arms, your first step is to attend a volunteer orientation. To sign up for one of these sessions, fill out a Volunteer Orientation Request>>
Group volunteering is an amazing team-building experience, whether for your company, team, religious organization or other group. Our biggest need for groups of volunteers here at Open Arms is delivering meals to our clients living with chronic and life-threatening illness. Delivery is held 6 days a week Monday-Friday from 11am-1 pm and Saturday from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. We ask groups to arrive 30 minutes early for a brief orientation. Routes typically take between 1-2 hours round trip from Open Arms.
Most groups deliver in pairs or trios and we provide each driver with a map complete with turn-by-turn directions. Depending on the date, we may have 1 – 10 delivery routes open. We can handle groups of up to 20 people. Volunteers deliver in their own vehicles. Contact Maria, our Volunteer Services Coordinator, for more information.
Kitchen Group Volunteering
If you are interested in bringing a group to our kitchen, please contact Volunteer Services Director Lila. Kitchen groups are typically booked out a month in advance.
