Top
10 Q&A about the Breast Cancer Ride:
1. When is the Breast Cancer Ride (BCR)?
The Ride is June 21-22, 2008.
2. How much do I have to raise & what is the registration
fee?
The fundraising minimum for Riders is $750 (that's just 10 of your friends
donating $75 each!) . Crew members do not have a fundraising requirement
however fundraising is appreciated! The registration fee for both is
$85.
3. Who does the Ride benefit?
This year, the beneficiary is Open Arms of Minnesota and their meal
delivery program for those affected by breast cancer.
4. What is the route?
The route we are close to confirming will have 2 options on Day 1. You
can ride 50 miles (approx) and be done for the day, or you can do the
extension loop that will be about 30-50 miles in length. On Day 2 there
will be one route of about 50 miles. (Note...if you ever need to pull
off the road and hitch a ride into Camp because you can't make the mileage
our Sweep Crew will be there to pick you up!)
5. Do I have to camp/tent?
We provide for you the campsite and you provide your own tent. Should
you decide to stay in a hotel you will be able to "book and buy" a hotel
room yourself. The Ride will work with area hotels to block off rooms
at a group rate and we will also provide shuttles to and from our selected
hotels.
6. Is the Ride fully supported?
You bet it is! We transport your gear, provide meals, snacks, water
and sports drink, provide bike tech support (Erik's Bike Shop!) and
have showers available each night.
7. Do you need corporate sponsorship?
We sure do! If you have a contact of someone willing to make a cash
or in-kind donation please let us know!
8. Do you have anything I can give my friends and family
to tell them about the Ride?
Yes. Please email us your mailing address to and we'd be happy to mail
out some event cards to you. They are the perfect size (just bigger
than a business card) with all of the BCR info on it! Feel free to also
pass along the attached registration and donation forms!
9. When will your website be live?
It's ready now! You can check www.BreastCancerRide.org
to see for yourself.
10. What can I do to help?
Please tell everyone you know about the Breast Cancer Ride. You never
know who might have a powerful story about a loved one they know with
breast cancer who are looking for a way to "do something" in their honor.
This could very well be that vehicle for them! Why not pass this email
on to 10 of your friends? Or your entire address book? Your friends
miss you...get in touch with them!
THANK YOU so much for your support of the Breast Cancer
Ride.
