MIRACLE ON 25TH STREETIn April of 2009, Open Arms received an $800,000 Challenge Grant from The Kresge Foundation to be used towards our capital campaign, which brought the total amount of funds secured in the capital campaign to $6.9 million. Because the nature of the grant is a Challenge Grant, the remaining $1.2 million must be raised by December 31, 2009 if we are to receive any of the funds. Although raising over one million dollars won’t be easy in this economic climate, we are convinced that this community will continue to support the work of Open Arms, and that we will successfully complete this campaign by year-end.
November 30, 2009: We are thrilled to announce that Open Arms has secured $8.1 million and completed our capital campaign! The successful completion of our campaign ensures we will receive $1.2 million in challenge grants from the Kresge and Bush Foundations. Construction on Open Arms’ new facility is in full swing. The new building will be operational in early 2010.
